Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 2026

Built Correct LLC ("we," "our," or "us") builds custom business software. We operate https://builtcorrect.com, the business apps we build for our client companies (each at its own builtcorrect.com address), the Built Correct app for iPhone, iPad, and Android, and the project chat where client companies work with our team. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

1. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR INFORMATION

Each client company decides what its app is used for and who can use it. The records it keeps there, such as its customers, staff, jobs, schedules, photos, invoices, and payroll, belong to that company. We process them on the company's behalf and follow its instructions. If you are a customer or employee of one of our client companies, please contact that company about its records, and we will help it respond.

We are responsible for the information we collect for our own business: logins, Built Correct subscriptions and billing, the project chat with our team, the phone app, our website, and free accounts and creations on builtcorrect.com.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information you provide directly:

  • Name, email address, phone number, and the company you work for
  • Login details. We store passwords only as one-way hashes. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account ID.
  • Business information you or your company enter into an app, such as customers, addresses, jobs, photos, notes, invoices, payments, and payroll
  • Messages, photos, and screenshots you send in the project chat or in the chat on our website, and what you describe when you create an app on builtcorrect.com
  • Billing information for a Built Correct subscription. You enter payment details with Stripe, PayPal, or Venmo, and we never receive full card numbers.
  • Meeting transcripts. If you meet with us in our online meeting room, what participants say is turned into text and can be saved with the meeting.

We automatically collect:

  • IP address, device and browser type, operating system, and app version
  • When each session in our apps starts, your last activity, and how many pages you viewed, so we can support you and see how our software is used
  • In the project chat, which messages you have seen and whether you have the chat open (see section 4)
  • Cookies and similar storage on your device (see section 11)

We also receive information from:

  • Your company, when it adds you as a user or keeps records about you in its app
  • Google, if you sign in with Google
  • Public sources, such as business listings and websites, about businesses we may contact

3. THE BUILT CORRECT PHONE APP

The Built Correct app for iPhone, iPad, and Android opens your company's app and the project chat. It asks for your permission before it uses any of the following, and you can change these permissions at any time in your device's settings. If you say no, only the feature that needs that permission stops working.

  • Notifications. If you turn on notifications, your device gives the app a push token. We store it with your login, the type of device, and the app version. We send notifications through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which delivers them to iPhones and iPads through Apple Push Notification service. A notification can show the chat's name, the sender, and the start of a message. In a web browser, notifications go through that browser's push service instead.
  • Microphone and speech recognition. Used only when you choose to talk instead of typing, join a voice call in the project chat, or use a voice feature in your company's app (see sections 4 and 5).
  • Camera and photos. Used when you take or choose a photo to attach to a message, job, or other record, or when you scan a room. Photos you attach are uploaded and stored with that message or record. The app adds photos to your photo library only when you choose to save one.
  • Location. Some companies' apps use your precise location when you check in or out at a job site, or to confirm that you arrived at an assigned job, and only while the app is open. The location is saved with that check-in for your company. The app does not track your location in the background.
  • Room scans (LiDAR). On iPhones and iPads with a LiDAR sensor, some companies' apps can scan a room with Apple's RoomPlan to measure it and draw a floor plan. The scan stays on your device and is not sent to us.

The app remembers the companies you opened recently on your device. It contains no advertising or analytics code and never asks to track you.

4. THE PROJECT CHAT

The project chat connects a client company's people with our team and our AI assistant. It keeps:

  • Messages, photos, and screenshots that members send, with who sent them and when.
  • Talk-to-type text. When you talk instead of typing, the speech recognition built into your device or browser turns your words into text, and only that text is sent to us. Depending on your device and browser, this happens on the device itself or on the servers of the company that makes it (for example, Apple on iPhone and iPad, or Google in the Chrome browser), under that company's privacy terms. We never receive or store a recording.
  • Calls. Call audio travels directly between the devices on the call. It does not pass through our servers and is not recorded. Our servers only help the devices find each other, and Google's public STUN service sees their network addresses to set up the connection. While you are on a call and not muted, your device turns what you say into text in the same way, and the chat shows it as a transcript of your words.
  • Read receipts, presence, and typing. We record which messages each member has seen and whether they have the chat open, so our team knows whether you have seen a reply. While you type, other members see that you are typing, and our team can see your words before you send them. We keep only your latest unsent text and clear it when you send.

The chat may ask for a code we email you, once per device every 30 days. We may also copy earlier conversations with our team, such as a group chat from another messaging app, into a project chat so the whole history is in one place.

5. AI SERVICES

Parts of our products use artificial intelligence (AI) services from other companies. When a feature uses one, the information it needs is sent to that provider to produce a result. Replies written by our AI assistant are labeled "AI."

  • Project chat and the chat on our website. Messages, screenshots, and the conversation so far go to Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT and Codex), and xAI (Grok) to draft replies, summarize conversations, and describe screenshots. TypeSafe AI helps decide how each message should be handled, such as whether it needs a person, and checks replies before they are sent.
  • Creations on builtcorrect.com. What you describe is sent to xAI and OpenAI to build your app.
  • Building and fixing software. Our team uses AI coding tools from Anthropic, OpenAI, and xAI to build and fix the apps we make. These tools see what the work needs, such as your request and any screenshots.
  • Voice features in some companies' apps. Some apps send a recording you choose to make to Google (Gemini) or OpenAI to turn it into text or a draft, such as an estimate or an inventory count. We do not keep these recordings.
  • Other features. Some apps use these providers for tasks such as reading counts, cleaning up imported lists, or answering questions about the company's own records.

These requests use accounts that Built Correct holds with each provider, sometimes through computers we run for this purpose. Each provider handles the information under its own terms.

Your choice. The project chat asks whether our AI assistant may help before it reads your messages, and you can change your answer later from the chat's menu. If you say no, our AI assistant does not read your messages and our team reads and answers them ourselves. You can also email admin@builtcorrect.com to turn it off for your company's chat. Voice features send a recording only when you start one.

6. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services, including the apps we build for your company
  • Run the project chat, send notifications, and provide customer support
  • Draft and check replies with our AI assistant. We use conversations, and our team's corrections to its drafts, to improve its replies.
  • Process payments and send account emails, such as sign-in codes
  • Send product updates and marketing communications (with consent)
  • Measure which of our ads bring people to our website and its Build Rooms (see section 11)
  • Prevent fraud and abuse, and keep our services secure
  • Comply with legal obligations

7. DATA SHARING

We do not sell your personal information. Our homepage uses the Meta and Reddit pixels described in section 11 to measure our ads. Apart from that, we do not share your information for advertising, and our business apps and the phone app do not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. We may share your information with:

  • Service providers who help us run our services:
    • Amazon Web Services: hosting, databases, file storage, and email
    • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service: notifications
    • The AI providers named in section 5
    • Stripe, PayPal, and Venmo: payments
    • Google: Sign in with Google, the STUN service that connects calls, and Google Analytics on our public website
    • Meta and Reddit: measuring our ads on our homepage (section 11)
    • Services a client company connects to its app, such as QuickBooks Online or Microsoft 365 email
  • People at your company who use its app, as the company allows
  • Law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by law
  • Third parties with your explicit consent

8. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

Your data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. Connections to our services are encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, and the project chat asks for an emailed code on new devices. We limit access to Built Correct staff and contractors who need it to provide our services. We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Some service providers, including the AI providers in section 5, may process information in other countries.

9. DATA RETENTION

We retain your information for as long as your account, or the client company it belongs to, uses our services, and as needed to provide them. In particular:

  • Records in a client company's app are kept until the company deletes them or asks us to. When a company stops using Built Correct, we return or delete its data at its request.
  • Project chat messages, photos, and transcripts stay in the chat for as long as the chat exists.
  • We never store call or talk-to-type audio, and the details that connect a call are deleted when it ends.
  • A device's push token is deleted when you sign out of the chat on that device. We stop using a token when the notification service reports that it no longer works.

We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as resolving disputes.

10. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information or your account
  • Export your data
  • Opt out of marketing communications

To delete your account yourself, see Delete your account. Contact us at admin@builtcorrect.com to exercise any of these rights. We may need to confirm your identity first. If your request concerns records a client company keeps in its app, we may refer it to that company or act on the company's instructions.

You can also turn off notification, microphone, speech recognition, camera, photo, and location access at any time in your device's settings.

11. COOKIES, ANALYTICS AND AD MEASUREMENT

Our apps use cookies and similar storage on your device to keep you signed in and to remember your settings and recent companies. Our public website (builtcorrect.com and its articles) also uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and show which pages are used. We use it only to understand and improve the website. Our business apps and the phone app do not use Google Analytics or advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though you may then need to sign in again.

Our homepage also uses the Meta Pixel and the Reddit Pixel so we can see which of our ads work. When you visit, they tell Meta and Reddit that the page was viewed and, later, whether you sent the first message in a Build Room or saved it to an account. They never receive what you type, and we do not give them your name, email or phone number. Meta and Reddit may set cookies, recognize you if you use their services, and use this to measure our ads and show them to people who may be interested. The pixels are not used in our business apps, in the phone app, or when you open our website from the phone app. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, our website does not load them. You can also limit ad tracking in your Facebook and Reddit settings, or block third-party cookies in your browser.

12. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our services are intended for businesses and are not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, and if we learn that we have, we will delete it. A client company may keep records about minors in its own app; we process those records only on the company's behalf.

13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We will notify users of material changes.
